LIGHTROOMTUTORIALS Video Content Creation Starting from the end of 2020, I made a decision to share my passion and knowledge about photography, videography, design, and the digital world with the world. Thus, I started a Youtube Channel mainly catering to the Italian audience, but don’t worry, I’ve got you covered as most of my videos come with English captions. My first video focuses on Adobe Lightroom, the photo editing software that has taken the world by storm. Through my videos, I teach you how to navigate the interface, import and develop your photos, and edit them to perfection. I share tips and tricks that I have picked up over the years to ensure you get the best results possible. In my first video, which spans a comprehensive 40 minutes, I provide a complete guide to photo editing using only Adobe Lightroom. I break down each panel individually, and by the end of the video, you will have gained basic knowledge on how to edit photos using this software. I am excited to continue sharing my knowledge with you and hope you find my videos useful. Be sure to check them all out and subscribe to stay updated on the latest content. Cyclops

cyclops-commercial-video-ermal-alibali

Cyclops Commercial Video I recently created a commercial video at home for the Cyclops action figure from the Q-Fig series by Quantum Mechanix. Cyclops, or Scott Summers, is a popular character from Marvel Comics and a founding member of the X-Men. Making a product video at home during the lockdown was a challenging task, as I had to create a set with limited objects and space. However, I found that creativity was the key to success and the final result exceeded my expectations. The video showcases three main elements of the project. First, I improvised the set on my desk using objects I had on hand. This demonstrates that even with few resources, it’s possible to create an acceptable set, ideal for low-budget projects. Next, I showcase a section of the editing process: the color process, starting from a Log profile picture to achieve perfect colors, as seen in any commercial. Finally, I present the finished product. The video highlights the intricate details of the Cyclops figure, captured in stunning high definition. Overall, this project was an exciting challenge that allowed me to flex my creative muscles and produce a professional-quality commercial from the comfort of my own home. Miss World Italy 2019

Miss World Italy 2019 - Adele Sammartino - Pablo Gil Cagnè - Ermal Alibali

MISS WORLD ITALY 2019 ADELE SAMMARTINO Fashion Photoshooting I had the pleasure of working closely with Pablo Gil Cagnè, a well-known makeup artist and professor from Rome. His reputation precedes him, having worked with his students to create stunning makeup looks for some of the most important fashion events in Rome and across Italy. As part of a demonstrative session for his makeup courses, I was tasked with photographing one of his lessons featuring an exceptional model: Adele Sammartino, Miss World Italy 2019. It was an incredible opportunity to capture the work of a master artist and his talented students in action. After the demonstration, I had the chance to take some photos of Adele Sammartino in selected clothing. It was a joy to work with such a talented and beautiful model, and the results were truly stunning. If you want to see more of my work with Pablo Gil Cagnè and the incredible Adele Sammartino, be sure to check out my portfolio on Behance. Girandola of Rome

La Girandola - Castel Sant'Angelo - Roma - Ermal Alibali

GIRANDOLA OF ROME Event Photography A spectacular firework event is held annually in Rome on June 29th to celebrate the local patrons, St. Peter and Paul. This event, known as The Girandola, was conceptualized by none other than Michelangelo Buonarroti himself. For a number of years now, the event has been held at the Pincio in Villa Borghese. In 2015, I had the opportunity to attend and photograph my first-ever pyrotechnic display. I remember the event drew an impressive crowd of people and I knew I had to find a good vantage point. I arrived at the venue at around 4-5 PM, well before the show was scheduled to start at 9 PM. Despite the crowds, I managed to find a spot on the cornice overlooking the Tevere river. I had to make a choice between avoiding the crowds or capturing a reflection of the fireworks in the river. I decided to go for both. As I waited for the show to begin, I set up my trusty old Canon EOS 600D and did some test shots. The display lasted quite a while, and while the air was thick with smoke from the fireworks, the overall effect was breathtaking. It turned out to be the last time the Girandola was held at Castel Sant’Angelo. Back to Home

Deep Ocean

Deep Ocean - Ermal Alibali

DEEP OCEAN Poster Design Deep Ocean began as a personal project, born out of my love and fascination for sea creatures. As I delved deeper into this project, it became a dedication to these incredible beings, and a way to raise awareness about the damage that humans inflict upon their habitats. Our planet is currently suffering due to the negative impact of human behavior, and unfortunately, the ocean world has been suffering in silence for far too long. It’s disheartening to see that many countries still practice the poaching of whales, dolphins, seals, and killer whales for their meat and fins, with no regard for international laws protecting endangered species. Through my illustrations, I aim to showcase the vital spirit of sea creatures. I use warm colors to bring out their beauty and contrast them against the dark blue, often murky waters in which they live. These waters are also the hunting grounds for humans who seek to capture and sell these magnificent creatures to the black market. As my project continues to grow, I hope to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the ocean’s fragile ecosystems and the creatures that call it home. Every illustration serves as a reminder of the beauty that lies beneath the surface, and the urgent need to protect it for future generations. Back to Home

Carnival of Viareggio 2020

Carnevale di Viareggio 2020 - Ermal Alibali

CARNIVAL OF VIAREGGIO 2020 Event Photography As a photographer, I’m always on the lookout for unique opportunities to capture beautiful and compelling images. That’s why when I heard about the Carnival of Viareggio, I knew I had to attend and document the experience through my lens. The Carnival of Viareggio is a world-famous event held annually in the charming city of Viareggio, Italy. It’s considered one of the most significant carnival celebrations in both Italy and Europe, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. When I arrived in Viareggio, I was immediately taken aback by the vibrancy and energy of the city. Everywhere I looked, I saw colorful decorations and people dressed in elaborate costumes, getting ready for the parade. The parade itself was a feast for the eyes. The floats and masks made of papier-mâché were incredibly detailed and featured caricatures of popular figures from different fields, including politics, entertainment, and sports. As the parade went on, the crowds roared with laughter and excitement, adding to the already lively atmosphere. As a photographer, capturing the beauty and energy of the carnival was no easy task. The parade took place along the promenade, which was crowded and challenging to navigate. Finding the perfect angle and composition for my photographs required careful planning and positioning. But despite the challenges, photographing the Carnival of Viareggio was an incredibly rewarding experience. The carnival offered endless opportunities for stunning shots, from the colorful floats and masks to the lively crowds and beautiful cityscape. In 2020, the carnival hosted its first-ever Night Edition, which added a new level of excitement and challenge for me as a photographer. Capturing the floats and masks under the dazzling lights and against the dark backdrop of the night sky required a different approach and technique, making it an even more exhilarating experience. All in all, my journey as a photographer at the Carnival of Viareggio was one of the most memorable experiences of my career. I’m grateful for the opportunity to capture the carnival’s magic and beauty through my lens, and I can’t wait to attend again in the future. More photos on my Behance. Back to Home

AltaRoma

AltaRoma - Ermal Alibali

ALTAROMA Fashion Photography Get a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes of the most important fashion event in Rome, as I take you through my experience as a photographer for Rome Fashion Week organized by AltaRoma, a renowned fashion company on the Italian scene. My task was to capture the essence of the backstage, from the arrival of the outfits to the preparation of models by hairstylists and makeup artists, before they hit the runway. For hours before the show, the backstage is a hive of activity, as everyone prepares for the event. From the organization, rehearsals, to the fitting of outfits, everything has to be perfect. As the show began, the air was filled with tension and excitement, especially for the stylists and models who paid tribute to the clothes by wearing them. Even during the show, the backstage never slows down. Timely outfit changes are crucial to keep the public waiting for the next creations to appear in front of them. My work didn’t end until the end of the evening, with the conclusion of the show. The exhaustion on everyone’s faces was evident, but so was the pride and joy of hours spent making sure everything was perfect, and above all, the success of the event.
